Kenneth felt a wave of anxiety wash over him as he considered the possibility that the mysterious disappearance of the Grant family’s father and son was somehow linked to Charlie. The thought that Charlie could make them vanish without a trace filled Kenneth with dread.
He couldn’t shake the fear that if Charlie had the power to eliminate them, he might very well target him next.
On top of that, with the father and son gone, Kenneth realized he would never be able to access Anthony’s miraculous medicine. After all, there was no substitute for a deceased person, and provoking Anthony at this moment would be a grave mistake.
As the atmosphere grew tense and silent, Lady Wilson suddenly turned to Kenneth with an overly flattering demeanor. In a humble tone, she suggested, “Mr. Wilson, perhaps we should consider going to one of the major hospitals in Eastcliff? You might just find a cure for your condition there.”
Kenneth was the lifeline for the entire Wilson family, and Lady Wilson was even more anxious than he was. If he failed to regain his manhood, the Wilson family would lose the promised seventy million dollars he had pledged to invest in the Wilson Group.
“Absolutely, Mr. Wilson. While Dr. Simmons has a solid reputation, he often associates with that worthless Charlie. I’m sure there are other brilliant doctors out there who could help you!” Christopher chimed in, eager to win Kenneth’s favor.
However, Kenneth’s expression darkened further at their comments. Gritting his teeth, he snapped, “Enough! I know exactly what that bastard Dr. Simmons is capable of! If he refuses to treat me, then it’s pointless to seek help from any hospital in Eastcliff.”
Wendy, filled with worry, interjected, “Kenneth, is Dr. Simmons really the only genius doctor in all of Aurous Hill? Shouldn’t we look for someone else?”
Though Wendy had no affection for Kenneth, she felt frustrated having invested so much without reaping any benefits. It was unacceptable to her.
Suddenly, Christopher had a thought. “Chairman Wilson, didn’t you mention having a friend who owns a pharmaceutical factory? Shouldn’t you reach out to him to see if he could assist you?”
Kenneth’s expression shifted immediately at Christopher’s suggestion. In his fixation on obtaining Anthony’s magic medicine, he had completely overlooked this option.
The Weaver family in Aurous Hill owned a prominent pharmaceutical company and was well-respected in the industry.
Moreover, Kenneth had a solid rapport with the young lord of the Weaver family, and their friendship often involved playful banter. Now, this young lord could very well be Kenneth’s last hope in Aurous Hill.
However, seeking assistance from him would require some finesse.
At that moment, Kenneth shot a look of dissatisfaction and disdain at Wendy.
He had invested fifteen million dollars for her company, only to spend a mere two or three nights with her before losing his ability to be intimate. She was, without a doubt, the most expensive woman he had ever been with!
Since he could no longer engage with her in that way, keeping her around seemed pointless. Instead, it would be wiser to introduce her to the young lord of the Weaver family, where she could please him instead.
With that thought in mind, Kenneth smiled at Wendy and said, “Wendy, make sure you dress nicely tomorrow. I’m taking you to meet a friend…”
It was unusual for Kenneth to address her so kindly in recent days, and Wendy felt a surge of happiness, oblivious to his ulterior motives.
…
The following day, news of the Grant family’s father and son disappearance continued to circulate throughout the city.
However, Claire and Elaine paid little attention to the situation, as Charlie had already informed them that the two had fled out of fear of facing consequences for their actions.
Since they were indeed on the run, it was only logical for them to disappear.
Kenneth had contacted the young lord of the Weaver family in advance and, that evening, brought Wendy to one of Aurous Hill’s exclusive private rooms, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his friend.
