Married at First Sight Chapter 223

Chapter 223
The driver glanced back at Zachary in the backseat. Noticing Zachary’s cold expression, he quickly turned his gaze back to the road. He drove cautiously, maintaining a safe distance behind the missus’ car.
Jim pondered the most pressing question and turned to Zachary, asking, “Mr. Zachary, where are you headed tonight?”
Mr. Zachary had stayed at Regent Residences the previous night, but today he was following the missus. Was he returning to Brynfield?
Zachary remained silent.
After a moment, he replied, “I’ll go back to Regent Residences, but…”
He fixed his gaze on the familiar vehicle ahead without finishing his thought.
They silently escorted Serenity’s car back to Brynfield before he returned to his villa.
Jim was perceptive and quickly understood Zachary’s intentions, so he relayed the information to the driver.
Serenity was aware that a car was following her, which belonged to Zachary. However, Wiltspoon was a large city, and there were numerous cars on the road even late at night. Even if she spotted luxury vehicles, she wouldn’t recognize them as Zachary’s. As she approached a traffic light intersection, a group of seven or eight youths standing by the roadside suddenly rushed out, prompting Serenity to slam on the brakes.
Just as she was about to collide with them, the car halted in time. She broke out in a cold sweat and took a moment to regain her composure. Knock! Knock!
One of the youths tapped on her window. Serenity, fearing she had hit someone, quickly rolled down the window, only to find her youngest cousin staring back at her.
“It’s you?” she frowned. “Do you have a death wish? Do you realize what could have happened if I hadn’t braked in time? If you want to take risks, please do it far away from my car.”
Her youngest cousin, Noah Hunt, was still a teenager, caught in the throes of rebellion and ignorance.

were at their peaks. Last time, her cousins visited her store to discuss reconciliation. Noah, in particular, was arrogant, threatening to vandalize her store. However, tonight, he arrived with a group of young people, all around his age, to block her car. Were they trying to provoke trouble?

“So what if it’s me! Get out of the car, Serenity! If you don’t, I’ll smash your car! You can afford a new one, but you refuse to help Grandmom with her medical bills. Do you know how much she spent on her hospitalization?”

Noah was young and impetuous, unaware of the full story. All he knew was that after their grandmother fell ill, Serenity never visited her in the hospital or contributed to her medical expenses. His parents insisted that Serenity and her sister should cover their grandmother’s treatment costs. Liberty had no money, but Serenity did. After all, she had just bought a new car worth over one hundred thousand dollars. She had plenty of money for a car, yet she wouldn’t assist her grandmother with her medical bills. When his brothers wrote a blog post accusing Serenity, she responded with nonsense, deliberately misleading public opinion and causing uninformed netizens to turn against them. This backlash hurt his eldest brother’s business and led to the suspension of his second brother from work.

Even the jobs of his parents and other brothers were affected. Noah was furious. When they attempted to reconcile with Serenity, she flatly refused to forgive them. He had wanted to destroy her bookstore that day but was restrained by his cousins.

In the past few days, he overheard his parents discussing the urgent need for money to cover their grandmother’s medical expenses, lamenting how costly her treatment was. Remembering that Serenity’s refusal to pay was the root of their troubles, he gathered a group of friends. They lingered around her store.

She visited the bookstore during the day and memorized the number on her car’s license plate.
