Married at First Sight Chapter 217

Chapter 217
Hank thought about the York family, then shifted his focus to his sister-in-law’s circumstances. He felt it was unlikely that Zachary would ever become Mr. York. Serenity was indeed attractive, but in other respects, she paled in comparison to the Stone family’s daughter. If Mr. York did not take a liking to someone like Elisa, why would he be interested in Serenity? After weighing these comparisons, Hank dismissed the notion, realizing he was overthinking the situation. There was no way the Zachary he knew could be the young master of the York family! “I must be imagining things. Let’s go have breakfast,” he said. Jessica was hoping that Hank would become acquainted with Mr. York. If that happened, she could leverage her relationship with Hank to get closer to Mr. York and maybe even break into high society. However, reality was a harsh wake-up call; it was an impossible dream! Securing Hank’s affection and persuading him to divorce Liberty to marry her was already the best outcome she could hope for. So, Jessica put aside any other thoughts.
Zachary didn’t see Hank, but Jim did.
Fortunately, Hank was unfamiliar with the bodyguards surrounding Zachary, but they would recognize the faces of people associated with the missus. Thus, Jim identified Hank.
Once in the car, he reported to his boss, “Mr. Zachary, I think I just saw the missus’s brother-in-law outside the hotel. I only caught a quick glimpse, so I’m not entirely sure it was him, but the woman with him was not the missus’s sister. However, I could be mistaken.”
That man was indeed the missus’s brother-in-law. What Jim witnessed was the most devastating scenario for a married woman—her husband having an affair!
Zachary didn’t respond right away. He remained silent for a moment before speaking in a low voice, “I told you, her affairs have nothing to do with

Jim opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but he was at a loss for words. It was evident that Mr. Zachary and Missus were in conflict; they seemed to be engaged in a cold war. Missus didn’t reach out to Mr. Zachary, and he did not return to Brynfield. The bodyguards were left clueless about the reason for the couple’s disagreement, feeling helpless in the situation. After speaking, Zachary fell silent. Jim glanced over at him and noticed he was focused on his phone, reading a message from Serenity.

She had seen his national MPV parked downstairs, which he had previously used to mislead her about his financial status, and asked if he was not working that day. Zachary found himself in a dilemma. Should he reply? He had spent the night at his own villa and hadn’t returned to Brynfield. He expected Serenity to inquire about it; even if she didn’t call, he thought she would at least send a message. He waited late into the night for a response, but his phone rang several times—none of which were from her.

His pride held him back from reaching out. Since she seemed indifferent to him, he decided to mirror her behavior. Instead of replying, he deleted her message and removed her number from his contacts. Serenity, not receiving a response from Zachary, realized he was still upset, likely because he doubted her innocence regarding Shawn. She chose not to send any more messages. After Sonny finished eating, she picked him up and left with her sister.
