Wasn’t Charlie truly remarkable? Didn’t he know Don Albert? And didn’t he throw him out of a window?
Now, he was contemplating taking his own life!
Upon entering the house, Charlie cast an apologetic glance at Claire, as if to say, “Claire, I’m sorry for my tardiness.”
Claire felt a whirlwind of emotions—surprise, happiness, worry, and fear—when she saw Charlie arriving at the villa to rescue her.
Yet, amidst all these feelings, she couldn’t quite grasp why a deep sense of safety enveloped her the moment she saw Charlie standing before her.
Suddenly, Claire cried out, “Husband… my husband…”
Elaine, who had been knocked to the ground, regained her senses and crawled over to cling to Charlie’s leg. “Charlie, my dear son-in-law! I’m so relieved you are here to rescue your mother! If you had arrived just a moment later, I would have been done for!”
As she spoke, she pointed accusingly at Justin and his son, exclaiming, “Do you have any idea that this scoundrel, Jason, deceived me? He claimed he wanted to confess his love to Claire and urged me to trick her into coming to his villa. But his true intention was to exploit Claire, and he even harbored strange ideas about me! He nearly terrified me to death. What would happen if he had actually harmed me?”
Charlie couldn’t help but frown.
He quickly pieced together that his wife’s predicament stemmed from his mother-in-law’s actions.
At that moment, anger surged within him, and he felt the urge to slap Elaine for her foolishness and arrogance.
Nevertheless, he recognized that this wasn’t the time to discipline Elaine; addressing Jason and his father, Justin, took precedence.
With that thought in mind, Charlie turned to Claire and spoke softly, “Don’t worry, my dear wife. Just trust your husband to handle everything!”
Claire continued to cry as she looked at Charlie. After a brief moment, she wiped her tears and said, “Charlie, why are you being so foolish? Why would you come here to meet your end in vain?”
Charlie smiled with indifference and replied, “My beloved wife, haven’t you heard? People in Aurous Hill say that your husband is a true dragon on earth. Why would I succumb so easily?”
“Hahaha!” Jason burst into laughter, as if he had just heard the funniest joke. “Charlie, you claim to be a dragon on earth? What a joke! You’re nothing more than a worm that I can easily crush!”
Charlie shot Jason a cold glare and said, “Conflicts between men should be settled privately. Why resort to kidnapping women to achieve your goals? If you truly have the courage, let Claire and my mother-in-law go. After that, you can do whatever you want to me.”
Jason scoffed, saying, “You’re so naïve! Do you think that killing you will erase my hatred? Let me be clear! I plan to sleep with your beautiful wife right in front of you before I kill you! I’ll even create a social media account using Claire’s phone number to post an intimate video of us. I want the entire world to witness how you, Charlie, were made a cuckold even before your demise!”
As he continued, Jason gritted his teeth and added, “I’ll name the account ‘Super Smelly Piece of Trash!’”
Jason despised Charlie so intensely that simply killing him wouldn’t suffice. He craved the humiliation of posting the video online, knowing it would be nearly impossible to trace back to him, given that it would be registered under Claire’s phone number.
Even after Charlie’s death, the video would circulate on the Internet, allowing people to mock and ridicule him endlessly! This would be the ultimate revenge!
Charlie looked at Jason and sneered, “If you’re truly going to create a social media account for me, make sure to use the username ‘The Dragon Son-in-Law.’ Oh, and don’t forget to use a dragon as my avatar to suit my status.”
At this, Jason laughed derisively and said, “What’s wrong with you? Even when facing imminent death, you remain so cocky and arrogant!”
Charlie responded coolly, “You and your father are the ones who will meet their end, not me!”
Justin frowned and aimed his pistol at Charlie’s forehead, gritting his teeth as he warned, “Young man, do you really believe I won’t pull the trigger and end your life right now?”
Charlie sneered and replied, word by word, “No. I don’t believe it.”
