Married at First Sight Chapter 152

Chapter 152
“Mr. York, could you please stop flaunting your relationship? I have no intention of getting married anytime soon.”
Now that Zachary had bid farewell to his single life, he shouldn’t drag Josh into a married life. By persistently showcasing the benefits of having a wife, Zachary seemed to be trying to coax Josh into abandoning his wonderful singlehood as well.
“Huh? Why did you choose this outfit today?”
Josh’s sharp eyes noticed that Zachary was not wearing his usual suit label. He asked curiously, “What prompted the change of brands?”
Zachary was a stubborn man.
Once he developed a preference for a particular brand, he would stick with it for years and was not one to switch labels easily.
Given Zachary’s taste, the suits he typically wore were extremely expensive. However, the one he had on today cost no more than a few hundred dollars.
This was quite unlike Zachary.
Following Zachary’s lead, Josh asked with concern, “Mr. York, is our company experiencing a financial crisis? Are you wearing clothes from the outlet store to save money?”
To someone like Josh, a suit priced at a few hundred dollars was considered an outlet sale.
Zachary waited until he was in the CEO’s office before responding to Josh’s inquiry. “As the administrative executive, you should be aware of whether the company is facing financial difficulties. My wife bought me these new clothes. What? Don’t they look good? I think they’re great—the fabric is soft against my skin, and the cut fits me well.”
Josh was left speechless.
He regretted asking; all he received in return was Zachary flaunting his relationship. Since Zachary’s wife had given him new clothes, it was only natural for him to accept the gift and wear the suit.
Josh suspected that his boss—and best friend—was beginning to develop feelings for his wife. Otherwise, Zachary would never have been so enthusiastic about wearing a suit from her.

“caught dead in these clothes.” Judging by the expression on his boss’s face, it appeared that the man had not yet acknowledged his feelings for his wife. This was an event Josh would not want to miss for anything.

Serenity was completely unaware of what was happening with Zachary. As she entered the bookshop, she found her sister’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law waiting for her by the cash register. Jasmine poured each of them a glass of warm water and set the drinks in front of them, but they did not touch their beverages. Upon Serenity’s arrival, the mother and daughter exchanged scowls. Suppressing her frustration, Serenity greeted them politely, “Chelsea, Mrs. Brown, what brings you here?” They had sought her out before she had planned to visit them.

“I hope you’re not busy, Serenity.” The students were already in class when the mother and daughter arrived. Noticing the lack of activity in the shop, they concluded that Serenity’s business was struggling. They believed they had made the right decision to encourage Hank to evict her.

It seemed unlikely that Serenity was making any money, as her business was slow, and the rent in the area was high. It was no surprise that she had to work tirelessly on crafts to sell online. If Hank hadn’t kicked her out, she would still be relying on his support.

Liberty’s extravagant spending likely included financing her sister.

The idea of splitting expenses was a wise one, as it significantly piqued Hank’s interest, or so Mrs. Brown and her daughter thought.

“Yes, I’m not busy. What’s the matter, Mrs. Brown?” Serenity maintained her politeness. Zachary was right; having a fallout with the Browns would put her sister in a difficult position, especially since her sister wanted her marriage with Hank to succeed.

Chelsea spoke up angrily,

“Of course, there is an issue. That’s why we’re here. Your sister hit Hank. What do you have to say about it?”
