The air was thick with scornful laughter.
Kenneth was such a coward! He had called Charlie ‘dad’ three times in just a few minutes!
Could he really be the chairman of the illustrious Modestway Group? He was making a fool of himself and his company!
But Kenneth didn’t care about any of that!
A wise man knows when to back down and when to stand firm.
After all, you had to be alive to wield your manhood, right?
If you were dead, then what good was it?
So, he hurried over to Charlie, eager to win his favor. “Dad, please show mercy and forgive me! I swear, I’ll be in your debt forever, daddy!”
Charlie waved his hand and chuckled. “You should have called me dad when I asked nicely. It’s too late for that now.”
Kenneth stared in disbelief, thinking Charlie was just playing with him. He begged desperately, tears streaming down his face, “Dad, please, I’m sorry, daddy! Have mercy…”
Charlie turned to Wendy, who was frozen in shock, and said flatly, “Wendy Wilson, your sugar daddy is already on his knees. Why are you still standing?”
Wendy blinked in confusion and stammered, “What… what do you mean?”
Kenneth yanked her down, scolding, “Did you forget your brain at home, idiot? Don’t you know you have to kneel to speak to my dad?!”
Kenneth’s will to survive overshadowed any thoughts of reputation or dignity. This was his last chance.
Wendy knelt on the ground like a statue, too afraid to move or speak. Kenneth looked at Charlie with desperation and asked, “Daddy, are you happy now?”
Charlie shook his head, “Not really.”
Kenneth’s heart raced. “What can I do to make you happy?”
A playful grin spread across Charlie’s face as he replied, “Call me ‘Grandpa’. Let me see how that feels. If I like it, I might consider letting you go.”
Kenneth felt like he could just vanish on the spot.
What was he thinking today? Why did he provoke Charlie in the first place?! He gained nothing and lost everything!
He was beaten, forced to kneel, had called Charlie daddy, and even wet his pants…
And now, he had to call him ‘Grandpa’…
This was the peak of humiliation…
Seeing Kenneth hesitate, Charlie asked coldly, “What’s the hold-up? You don’t want to?”
Kenneth shook with fear and replied, “No, no, I do!”
He then bowed his head to the floor and cried out, “Grandpa! I’m so sorry, please forgive me!”
Charlie frowned, “Who am I?”
Tears streamed down Kenneth’s face like a waterfall. “You’re my grandpa!”
“And who are you?”
“I’m your grandson…”
Charlie nodded with a smirk. “Good. I never knew I could be a grandfather at such a young age. In that case, I’ll let you off the hook.”
Kenneth exhaled in relief and thought he could finally get up and leave when…
“Wait!” Charlie halted him. “You think you can just walk away like that? Don’t you have something to say first?”
