Jason’s face flushed a deep shade of green, a mix of anger and humiliation washing over him. He clenched his fists tightly, feeling as if his entire reputation was being trampled and belittled by Charlie. Yet, he stubbornly refused to believe that Charlie possessed the power these people claimed, and he was unwilling to concede defeat to someone he deemed a loser.
Out of the blue, Don Albert sneered at Jason and turned to Charlie, asking, “Master Wade, what should I do with this Grant kid?”
He didn’t dare to make any decisions on his own in Charlie’s presence; otherwise, he would have attacked Jason right then for his disrespectful behavior towards Charlie.
Charlie replied coolly, “It’s your choice.”
Don Albert grinned maliciously at Charlie’s words, but before he could signal his men to act, Graham interjected with a furrowed brow, “Wait a moment. I heard from Luke Marshall that you caused a scene at the auto show yesterday and offended Master Wade, didn’t you?”
“Huh? No, I…I didn’t…I…” Jason stammered, panic rising within him.
Despite having lost the previous day, he had brought this trouble upon himself by provoking Charlie. It was evident they were now looking to address two grievances at once.
Don Albert let out a cold laugh and said, “Well, it seems you were indeed messing with Master Wade yesterday, you blind fool! Let me make it clear to you: there’s a price to pay for offending Master Wade!”
He gestured to his men, commanding, “Guys, throw this ignorant fool out of the window right now!”
Jason was utterly stunned and terrified, the facade of his arrogance crumbling in an instant. He fell to his knees, pleading, “Charlie, I’m sorry. Please, I beg you, forgive me. I won’t do it again, I swear…”
Charlie smirked, “Hmm, I thought you were quite skilled, weren’t you? I’m just a deadbeat loser; why are you begging for mercy from me?”
In a pitiful state, Jason sobbed, his face a mess of tears and snot. “Charlie, please! I’m the deadbeat loser! I’m the biggest loser in the world! Please spare my life, please forgive me…”
Charlie nonchalantly kicked him aside and said coldly, “You ignored me yesterday, so I’m stepping on you today! Now get lost!”
Then, he shouted to Albert, “What are you waiting for?!”
Albert, slightly trembling, barked at his men, “What the hell are you waiting for? Toss him out of the window, you idiots!”
In an instant, Don Albert’s men seized Jason and hurled him out of the window, followed by a chorus of agonizing screams.
Claire gasped, covering her mouth in disbelief, her heart racing and her mind going blank.
They were on the third floor—what if he got seriously hurt?
Both she and Elaine rushed to the window to look down.
Fortunately, Jason was still alive, lying on the lawn and clutching his legs while screaming in agony. Luckily, they were at the hospital, so doctors and nurses rushed to his aid, transporting him to the emergency unit without delay.
Claire let out a sigh of relief at the sight. While she felt a bit disgusted and irritated by Jason’s relentless harassment and insults towards Charlie, she was relieved that with his legs likely broken, he wouldn’t be able to bother her again.
Amidst the chaos, Charlie approached Anthony quietly, retrieved the second batch of pills from his pocket, and whispered, “Mr. Simmons, I need your assistance. You’ll be the one to treat my father-in-law later and give him this pill.”
